Local and Regional Nets

AARC club members are encouraged to check-in to the various regional nets that take place on a regular basis. These serve to improve our operating practices, to get to know other amateurs, and to share information related to amateur radio.

Current net schedules are as follows. Times for some nets will change with the shift to standard time this Fall.

The Weekly Amethyst ARES HF Net

This regional net is open to all amateurs, and generally includes updates related to ARES in the Amethyst District. This net occurs every Wednesday at the following coordinates:

The Monthly Amethyst ARES EOC Test Net

This is a closed, directed, regional net aimed at testing the operational abilities of our EOC radio stations. In Atikokan, we participate in this net from the EOC station, VA3EOA, located in the Atikokan Municipal Office. If there are sufficient participants, we may also check-in from the club station VE3YIB at the airport. Contact Warren, VE3FYN, if you would like to participate.

This net occurs on the first Thursday of each month at the following coordinates:

The Weekly Rainy River District Net

This is an open casual net that occurs across the region on both VHF and HF. This is an informal net geared to maintaining contact with other amateurs in the region.

his net occurs every Sunday evening at the following coordinates:
